Upgrading a slow laptop

Recently I’ve noticed that when people call me to fix a slow laptop there is nothing really wrong with them except the Hard Drive usage is often at 100% or close to it during the slowness.

Invariably the laptop in question has a spinning disk, old school Hard Drive installed and it seems that the computer environment (web and app developers) is now geared towards the speed of Solid State Drives.

The solution is to replace the Hard Drive with a Solid State Drive and the results are astonishing!

I have been applying this upgrade for about $150 total parts and labour for a 500GB SSD.

If this sounds like your PC’s problem, give me a call! 🙂
