Windows 10 feature updates happen twice a year. They take a couple of hours (which is extremely disruptive if you didn’t know they were going to happen) and usually you go back to what you were doing. Occasionally you’ll notice the changes and decide whether they’re for the good or wish you had the old way back. The latest feature update could potentially make things a whole lot worse.
The Windows 10 1809 update which started rolling out in October was found to have deleted user’s files during the installation process and was promptly withdrawn.
It was re-released on November 13th but it may take a bit more time to hit Australia. There have been more reports of bugs still appearing (though not as drastic as data loss).
Maybe postponing the update a little longer would be the sensible thing to do
