Uninstall your antivirus and Microsoft Office before upgrading to Windows 10.
The Windows 10 upgrade is in full swing and a lot of people I know have taken the plunge. Most people, if they wait for it to be offered to them by Microsoft will have a relatively smooth transition.
While the upgrades to my PCs (from both Windows 8.1 and Windows 7) went ahead trouble free, I must say I took the precaution of uninstalling my antivirus and Microsoft Office before commencing.
I have been receiving calls for assistance from clients after a not so smooth upgrade and the two most common causes of problems have been either the antivirus or Microsoft Office.
So it is with this hindsight that I make the above recommendation. You can easily reinstall them once the upgrade is complete as long as you have your Microsoft Office Product Key and Licensing information from the antivirus company.
Of course, whenever a major change is going to be made to your PC, make sure you have backed up all your data before you start. Just in case.
